ALIBI HALLOWEEN SHOOT

(10/26/2013) The tournament was a sucess again in 2013. People came a long ways to participate with the furthest traveler was Robin Hood clear from the Sherwood Forest. The bar provided some nice drink specials, burgers, and $100 added prize money. The weather was nice and everyone seemed to be having a good time. We did have to take a short break for puppy time but the mess was short lived!

BLACK SANDS

(8/24/2013) We had 90 throwing in the tournament this year, and seemed like about the same just there for the campout, party, food, and fun. The breeze off the lake was refreshing, until later in the day when we had the canopy parade going overhead. I have not heard of anyone making it to Kansas (Wizard of Oz reference) but I heard of a couple of things still missing so no telling yet. Justin and Elliot did a good job of going unscathed through the day to collect the trophy, while Debbie and Randy saved up enough energy to power through the Sunday competition. Burt,Willie, and Crew did a great job on the BBQ as usual. They got alot of help shucking and scrubbing, but it did not look to me that any of them really though it was work but more entertainment. Always a great End of Season Affair.

LDG JULY TOURNAMENT

(7/27/2013) The tournament was alot of fun again as usual. The weather was a very nice and warm day as seems to be the standard for 2013. Scott made alot of chili dogs for us to eat, and bought a round after the tournament was over. the "tomtom" brothers took it to the house for an impressive win, but there were alot of pretty good teams that tried to make it turn out differently.

BEER HOUSE SUMMER TOURNAMENT

(6/15/2013) We had a pretty good turnout with 28 throwers. The weather was nice and the misters were a pleasant addition as I think we hit 90. The bar added $100 to the prize money and had the grill fired up for a post tournament BBQ. The tournament moved right along and we were pretty much done by 6. The competition was great with Debbie and Roland coming out on top in the end, but only after having to beat Jessica and Ryan twice in the finals. There was also some terrific Golden Tee and Cribbage going on throughout the day.

TURNER'S SPORTS BAR INAUGURAL TOURNAMENT

(5/18/2013) We had 24 entries for the tournament, and quite a few folks who just stopped by for the comradery. The weather was great and Turner's did a great job with this inaurural event. Looked like everyone seemed to be having a darn good time. The tournament went very smooth and we were done by 6pm easily. Turner's grilled up some burgers, dogs, and had some salads to enjoy. As a new sponsor for the league, looks like we are lucky to have them.

DUTCH GOOSE SPRING FLING TOURNAMENT

(4/13/2013) We had a pretty good turnout for the season kickoff event at the Dutch Goose. The weather was a bit strange as it cooled off throughout the day, even so mach as to see a few snowflakes stop on in. The wind was blowing a bit also. Not so much as to cool off the fun though, a a light jacket was all that was needed to battle the elements. The tournament moved right along and we were pretty much done by 6 or 7. We should have a good season if the shoes at this event hold up. The competition was fierce, and Tom and Scott came out on top in the end. Looking forward to 2013......

LDG ST. PATRICKS DAY TOURNAMENT

(3/16/2013) 42 throwers showed up for the annual Irish celebration at the Little Dutch Garden. The bar supplied alot of Corned Beef and Cabbage to celebrate the occasion and of course there were some great side dishes. There was plenty of food to go around. The weather held out for us and that big windstorm waited til we were through. Dave and Dalen went undefeated through the tournament until Willie and Dave arrived. They got them in the first game to bring on the what if, where what many have said was one of the best games they had seen in quite a while. From what I can recall there were two 4 deads, a couple more sixers, a truck load of X's, and an 18-18 score when Dave Maynard decided enough was enough and took it out.

JD BATSON MEMORIAL NEW YEARS TOURNAMENT

(1/1/2013) 34 crazy/dedicated players braved the cold weather. Steve Burley spent the day before working hard to clean up the pit area and Scott Hill was there with his torch to thaw out the pits before tournament started that morning. Dave Maynard also brought two tall propane heaters to keep the scorekeepers warm and there were small propane heaters at each end to help players warm up their hands. Lots of people stood around the fire pit to keep warm and drink their cheer when not playing. The bar supplied two great big broiler pans of pulled pork and of course others brought great side dishes. Nobody went away hungry. Scott and Jill Hymas as usual bought a round for all the players once everyone came in from the cold for the awards. Everyone enjoyed the day and rung in the new year with a good cheer. Thanks to all.
